As a graduate of Columbia University with degrees in biology and political science, Dr. Andres attended Michigan State University and Harvard University Medical School for graduate schooling in neuroscience and his medical degree and training. He completed a competitive five-year combined residency in general surgery and plastic surgery in the esteemed Grand Rapids/MSU program. During the final year of his residency, Dr. Andres attained Chief Resident distinction.
During his residency training under world-renowned surgeons, such as Dr. Dennis Hammond, Dr. Andres developed a focus on breast and reconstructive surgeries. With the goal of providing the most advanced techniques to his patients, he obtained additional fellowship training in advanced aesthetic and reconstructive surgery at the internationally renowned Mayo Clinic. During his Mayo Clinic fellowship, Dr. Andres received training in hand and microsurgery, breast reconstructive surgery, and advanced cosmetic procedures of the body and face.
Dr. Andres is known for his compassion as well as his surgical skills. To each of his patients he dedicates the utmost in respect, personal care and attention, while consistently achieving optimal results in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Lewis Albert Andres is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has received the Phoenix Magazine Top Doctor award for four consecutive years. He is a faculty member of the University of Arizona School of Medicine who has been published in medical journals and presented at national and international conferences.
Dr. Andres has been honored with induction as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Andres performs breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, and breast revision procedures with artistry and skill. Dr. Andres performs flap breast reconstruction using the patient’s own tissue, as well as breast reconstruction with implants.
Direct to implant breast reconstruction is a procedure Dr. Andres performs for women undergoing mastectomy. This one-step procedure allows the implant to be placed immediately after initial breast cancer surgery. A breast cancer patient undergoing this procedure can have natural-looking, symmetrical breasts after breast cancer surgery without undergoing a second procedure.
